REVIEW :: Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser
Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 09:13AM I recently recieved a Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser to try out. I've been incorporating the device into my skin-cleansing routine, and
let me just tell you that I think that this is a wonderous tool!
What It Is:
A handheld vibrating cleanser. In a starter kit you get 14 single-dose cleansing pads, the Wave unit itself and a postcard for online coupons.
What It Claims to Do:
A breakthrough new power cleanser by Neutrogena® that will transform your cleansing routine. Experience an extreme deep clean for a refreshed feel and remarkably softer skin.
- Better than the leading cleanser
- Removes more dirt, oil, and makeup
- Softer skin after 1 use
- Gentle for daily use
Clinically proven superior to manual cleansing in 3 ways:
- Tingly, cool foam penetrates deeper ~ 100% of women showed significantly deeper pore cleansing.
- Gentle vibrating motion stimulates skin's surface ~ feel the massaging action open pores to remove more dirt, oil and make-up.
- Softly textured pads sweep away layers of dead skin cells ~ see immediately softer, smoother skin after just 1 use.
I have very sensitive skin, so daily scrubbing with microdermabrasion formulas are out of the question for me. I am always on the hunt for deep cleaners that will profoundly rid my skin of all its gunk but still be gentle enough and safe for daily use, so when I heard about the Wave, I was thrilled.
It's a handheld device, which is battery operated. The device itself is completely waterproof, so no worries about shocks here! It comes with softly-textured, daily, disposable cleansing pads that sweep away layers of dead skin, leaving your skin more softer and smoother. The vibrations of the unit helps to open pores, allowing the cleansing formula to penetrate them and remove all dirt and any slight trace of makeup.
Overall my skin is smoother, softer, cleaner and definetly not irritated after I use the Wave. I can use it in the shower, over my bathroom sink, or while I'm on the phone (yes, I'm a multitasker!). It's convenient, and even better for travel. For the spa-like facials that you get with the Wave, you simply cannot beat the price. At only $14.99 at drugstore.com and refills at around $8.00, the Wave is great at getting the job done!
The only cons here are:
1) Refills...I hate when I have to buy re-fills for anything!
2) The foaming pads do have a "soap-like" scent. Personally I'm a sucker for anything that smells pretty. I have never really like the smell of just plain soap (like Ivory and dishwashing soap). But this may only be a con for me, as many people prefer to leave the extra fancy scents behind when it comes to skincare.
Other than that, thumbs up to Neutrogena on this one! Its great!

amazing review-as always!!
I'm so going to buy this!
i want this but i wonder why they didnt make pads that allow you to use your own cleanser! that really sucks
oohhh i wanna try now!
I'm interested to hear that you didn't break out from using this! My skin is really sensitive too and I broke out after just one use. But I'm happy to hear that it does work for some sensitive-skinned gals! :) Great review!
Mmmm I'm considering buying this for my boyfriend since he wants a deep clean, I'm just not sure if it would work the same on a mans skin compared to a womans...
